💻 Pre-Signing Checklist
Five questions to ask before finalizing any agreement:
- Version Control: Are you using the most current version (TX-NDPA-V1)?
- Exhibit E Eligibility: Can you sign Exhibit E? You can only sign Exhibit E if no changes have been made to the agreement (changes will be listed in Exhibit H).
- Expiration Date: When does the agreement expire? All agreements expire 3 years after the Originating District’s signature date.
- Data Scope: Have you reviewed Exhibit B to confirm exactly what data is being collected?
- Security Standards: Has the vendor verified their Cybersecurity Framework in Exhibit F?

Texas Student Privacy Alliance
The TxSPA is a collaboration of Texas school districts that share common concerns around student privacy. The goal of the TxSPA is to set standards of both practice and expectations around student privacy such that all parties involved have a common understanding of expectations.

Common Student Data Privacy Agreement
The first outcome of the Texas Student Privacy Alliance is the adoption and implementation of a Common Student Data Privacy Agreement to be used by all member schools when implementing any online application. By adopting such a contract all vendors and schools have common expectations when entering into a relationship or implementation without having to renegotiate terms in every new instance.
