Advocacy

TETL is committed to helping Texas school districts meet the digital security and learning needs of students, educators, and schools. We serve education technology professionals who are working to leverage technology to promote innovative teaching and learning to improve educational outcomes. TETL provides the expertise, support, and resources ed tech leaders need to stay ahead of the ever-evolving digital landscape.

One of TETL's core missions is helping K-12 school districts in Texas understand how to leverage technology to improve educational outcomes. We also advocate for school districts' technology needs, including ensuring schools have high-capacity broadband, devices, and cybersecurity protections.

2025 Capitol Walk

Join us in Austin on January 29 and 30, as we meet with state representatives to advocate for education technology, more cybersecurity funding, and our TETL initiatives. Educating legislators about the importance of technology to students and schools can have a huge impact as lawmakers are making important education policy decisions during the current legislative session. With your involvement, we can ensure every state leader in Texas understands schools' cybersecurity and other education technology needs.

And if you have never done a Capitol Walk before, don’t worry! TETL will provide the talking points, and the visits are quick and easy.

Take action now by encouraging your U.S Senators and House Representatives to cosponsor the "Enhancing K-12 Cybersecurity Act" (H.R.2845/S.1191).
